October 7- Maya Devi temple
So we are in Lumbini.
It is an important place of pilgrimage here since it is where the one who would become the Buddha was born around 600 BC
It is a huge garden which forms a large rectangle which contrasts with the city which is very dusty.
In this garden, the temple of Maya Devi (the Mother of the Buddha) indicates the precise place of her birth
Legend says that his mother, Queen Maya, gave birth under a tree and as soon as he was born, the child immediately began to walk. Legend also says that under every step he took, a lotus bloomed! Pretty, no?
Apart from the temple of the Mayan queen, in this garden, there are many temples of all schools and other Buddhist nations, each with their own architecture, it is really very beautiful.
Today we visit the "Chinese" temple which was built in the spirit of the Forbidden City of Beijing
