Today after a good lie-in
we planned to visit one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh: Hemis
it dates from the 17th century, it is also one of the largest.
it#039;s about fifty kilometers from where we are
To get there, we take a taxi
after a little negotiation, for 900 rupees, a taxi will take us, wait for us there while we visit and bring us back
he is very nice and quite happy to have found clients like us because we told him that we had other visits to make

This is truly a fabulous site.
we entered the temples
everything is woodwork with golden Buddha statues, each more beautiful than the other
the rooms date from 1630
upon entering I really had before my eyes the image I had of Tibetan temples when I started reading books on the subject
my imagination showed me this:

so full of eyes
plus a route to get there in the mountains that is more than fabulous!
