Monday July 7, 1997 - Return to Singapore
Today is the return to Singapore
Along the way we pass another store!
I hate shopping!
On the way we stop in the city of Malacca
which is a former Portuguese trading post in Malaysia
We visit the Saint Paul church, obviously very European in style.
still in Malacca, and near the church we can see a set of buildings
all constructed in the same way:
After this stop in Malacca, we reach Singapore for the end
of this little journey on the Malaysian peninsula
We return to Singapore around 7 p.m.
Leaving the bus, we do a little photo session with a family
Indonesian Chinese who was sitting next to us during this little
journey. Asians really love taking photos, it's a cliché
but it's true !
Get out of the bus, we walk on Orchard Road,
which is a bit like "the Champs Elysees of Singapore:
We end the evening after taking the train, in the neighborhood of
business which is in a port.
Very chic, there are a multitude of restaurants overlooking the port.
We meet almost two of Alex's friends, Frankie & Kester.
We have a drink in a hotel bar, an orchestra is playing
ambient music.
Kitch at paroxism!
