03 takstang, tigerrsquo;s nest
Today after getting up at 6 o#039;clock we leave for one of the most famous places in Bhutan: Tiger#039;s Nest.
It is a very old temple built on the side of a mountain.
Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche, a very old sage, riding a tigress had landed at this place to found a monastery.
We can also see inside the places where he meditated.
8 different temples are housed by the monastery.
We visited them all.
We reached the top after about 3 hours of walking on a height difference of nearly 900 meters.
The place is truly enchanting and it is truly one of the wonders of the world.
After having enjoyed it, we went back down. There was waiting for us a great Bhutanese picnic prepared by the family of Lama Gyourme. Perfect in every way!
