August 19, 2009 - Leh Shopping

Our stay in Himmalaya is coming to an end
Of course, the last few days are devoted to a little #039;shopping#039; to bring back
some memories of this fabulous region.
Irony of calendars: we leave for New Delhi on the morning of August 21
and this is the date on which the Dalai Lama will give 3 or 4 days of teachings in the region where we
we find.
The Ladakhis and the Tibetans are very, very close and have boundless admiration.
to the 14th Dalai Lama.
In our Guesthouse, there are 2 photos of the Tibetan spiritual master,
one in the room dedicated to Puja (for daily Buddhist prayers with a very beautiful altar)

and one in the dining room where there is a small inscription to remind us that #039;Tibet fell ago
50 years under the Chinese invasion#039;
It was the political quarter of an hour
information that still sends shivers down the spine, beyond the horrors of the invasion in Tibet, we are
today a cold observation: in the capital of Tibet Lhasa, there are today only 10%
Tibetan, the rest of the population is made up of Chinese immigrants....
in the marches of Tibetan refugees here, we sometimes find banners that ask the question
next: but who will remember us?
That#039;s it for today, the next article will surely be written live from New Delhi or
the atmosphere may be quite different...
A little hello to everyone (more than 400 visits since the beginning of this diary)

kisses
