2023 July 7 - big pool
lt;p style="padding-left: 40px;"gt;This morning get up around 9:00 a.m. after another restorative good night!lt;/pgt;
we take our time as usual for breakfast near the swimming pool
Today we take a taxi to visit a large Hindu temple about 20th of a kilometer away. On the way we stop at 2 very beautiful viewpoints in the forest.
The temple is dedicated to the god Shiva and his wife Durgha, 2 deities of Hinduism
At the entrance to the temple you can see 2 statues of 30 meters each
on the site you can see a sacred lake called ldquo;large basinrdquo;. In February it is the site of a very large pilgrimage where thousands of Mauritians come on foot to gather together.
On the way back we stopped at a very nice little restaurant, with a vegetable curry menu on a banana leaf, it was very good with a few samosas and donuts as a treat!
