August 22, 2009 - Delhi, visit to the Jama Masjid mosque
Today ,
the day before departure for Europe,
In the afternoon we will visit the Jama Masjid mosque which is the 3rd largest mosque
in the world !
it can accommodate more than 40,000 people
Let#039;s walk
we go through a whole bunch of streets and steps
Arrived there, an individual asked us for 200 rupees per person
we find it a bit strange, the visit to the place being supposed to be completely free...
In addition he was particularly unpleasant
we move a little further to pass through another portal (there are 4)
here, another individual asks us for the same amount, all in a very nervous tone too!!
we end up understanding that this is the price to pay for the right to take photos inside
we didn#039;t have a device...we ended up getting through anyway!
two other Western ladies had to pay because their wallets looked like
has a camera...
in short, rather mixed reception!!
the interior didn#039;t really impress me, it#039;s not really a building, it looks more like
has a huge open-air esplanade
