September 26 - Garden of Dreams

Today, 2nd day in Kathmandu

after a good night#039;s sleep, we begin the walk with the "garden of dreams".

In a very hectic and very noisy Kathmandu, it is a small oasis of greenery which is the former garden of the royal palace. There is a cafe, a library and a kiosk. very pleasant. we wander there while taking photos of some squirrels, lotuses, dragonflies etc...

Another series of temples (more or less damaged awaits us south of Durbar Square), about ten kilometers on foot, back and forth, takes us into deep Kathmandu. When we pass in front of certain very old houses, very old woodwork, very richly decorated and carved, lets us imagine what the riches of this place must have been in history. but there the earthquake has nothing to do with the dilapidation, only the poverty of the country prevents us from taking care of it.

One of the temples in Durbar Squarenbsp; is known to everyone as the ldquo;Hippy Templerdquo;. At the time when Kathandou was the final destination of backpackers who ended their route here in 2 CV in the 60s, this temple was their gathering place to talk, sing and other more or less acceptable activities ;)!! Impermanence being the rule, there are no more hippies today but the name of the temple remains!

In the category, everything is relative, I have also given you a photo of a street electrical installation. I wonder if it meets the standards?
