2023 July 10 - pagodas, cathedral and Hindu temple
Today woke up a little earlier around 8:30 a.m.
Always a mega breakfast buffet
Today#039;s program of visits: some pagodas and St Louis Cathedral
In the morning we reserved a villa for our next destination: Peyhebere in the north of the island known for its beaches.
So we start with a small Shinto pagoda. You should know that there is a large Chinese community in Mauritius dating back to the 1840s. The people at the pagoda kindly offer us entry.
Then St-Louis Cathedral and a statue of the same
king. Then we look for another pagoda but it is closed.
A Chinese lunch in Chinatown as it should be and then a short walk to another pagoda which will also be closed.....
On the way we also visit a richly decorated and truly beautiful Hindu temple.
Return to the Hotel at 4 p.m. for a well-deserved 4 hours! More than 20,000 steps during the day!
