Monday July 14, 1997 - sandakan turtle island
This morning woke up at 7 o'clock
On the program, a little trip to Turtle Island which is a protected natural park off the coast of Sandakan where thousands of mini turtles are protected
the island is where turtle eggs are laid
We take a boat with Alex, Tracy his sister, one of his friends and their mother
After a little stroll on the beach of the island, we take a little nap
In the afternoon I chat a little with a guide who shows the island to
tourists. His name is Avelino and he is Filipino
We exchange emails
In the afternoon, guides explain and show us the
protected places « for laying turtle eggs »
