Saturday July 12, 1997 - sandakan, orangutan park
After a morning trip to the family store,
we leave near sandakan in a protected park housing
orangutans in the middle of the jungle
very suitable for tourists,
a session is planned to attend the monkey meal
by forest guards
At the end of the afternoon and under crushing heat,
we visit a crocodile farm
It is here that I remember that every animal we encounter
is described to me as having medicinal virtues or providing
physical benefits according to Chinese beliefs
The crocodile is therefore described as: "good for skin"
Back home, we treat ourselves to a little nap!
In the evening I plan to cook French!
finally it's a bit of "almost"
I make a grated carrot salad with a sautéed vinaigrette
with real "French mustard" that we had a hard time
to find here!
and a rizotto with Chinese rice
which was not easy!
but everything is eaten Chinese style, all at the same time
salad, risotto
the family looks at the rice with tomato sauce in a rather strange way
eh eh
The evening is divided between a walk to the night market
or we have some “chicken wings”
and a karaoke session with Alex, who, like a good Asian, loves it!
